Equal Rights
There's been a couple of headlines that should give you pause.

"U.S. appeals court rules Prop. 8 unconstitutional
A federal appeals court declared California's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutional..."
Good news is refreshing.
Why are gay rights still marginalized ?
It's like the homophobes don't grasp the idea of "equal rights" means the same rights for everybody.

"This week a major financial supporter of breast cancer education and services, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, announced it was ending its funding to Planned Parenthood. While Planned Parenthood believes Komen is caving in to pressure from anti-abortion groups, Komen said its decision was made because the foundation is not allowed to give money to any organization under government investigation.
An article in The Los Angeles Times said this was a reference to "an inquiry begun by Rep. Cliff Stearns, a Florida Republican, to determine whether Planned Parenthood uses public money to fund abortions," an accusation Planned Parenthood has heard before and denied repeatedly."
Why are woman's rights still marginalized ?
Is there anything more ridiculous than a bunch of old white guys telling women what they can & can't do with their bodies ?
For these issues to still be open to interpretation seems absurd. It's like we are stuck in the 1920s with a bunch of narrow minded white guys legislating their twisted idea of moral values on all others that don't share their religious dogma.
We need to enforce the separation of church & state and we need to remove these religious fanatics from office and replace them with more progressive representatives that are capable of critical thinking.
