Screw the Constitution

Yes it appears once again your elected representatives have flipped you the bird.
Congress has voted in favor of telecom immunity.
You may ask have they seen the polls that say 78% DO NOT support telecom immunity?
You may ask why would they ignore the voice of the people who elected them, their best interests, their privacy and the Constitution they swore an oath to protect?
Because they were complicit when the illegal surveillance began, so now it's time to cover your ass or possibly face prosecution from charges of collusion.
Yes the D.I.N.O.S were aware BushCo was engaged in illegal surveillance early on and did nothing.

Here is your hit list and leading this pack of miscreants is Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer.
I would encourage you to make note of the traitors in your district so that you can make sure they are not reelected. If you need further confirmation of their most heinous acts then check them out to see if they have supported other bills that feed the BushCo cabal and sacrifice your rights, freedom and tax dollars. IE.. The Patriot Act.

I have a couple of quotes you may remember.
“The days of the do-nothing Congress are over,” declared Democratic Sen. Harry Reid .. BULLSHIT!
“This new Democratic majority has heard the voices of the American people,” said Rep. Nancy Pelosi.. AGAIN, BULLSHIT!
Quotes from when the Democrats "took back Congress". Yeah, right..
It's getting harder to tell the difference between the Republicans and these Democrats.

Here is a quote they seem to have forgotten..
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;"

And the rules..
from the Constitution, Article I, Section 9; Clause 3 is:
"No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed."

The system is broken and I don't see any positive changes in the future. Early on I had hopes that Kucinich might get a chance to make the progressive changes he talked about. But sadly the media took care of that possibility.
For the most part Congress and the Senate represent corporate interests and totally ignore the people. It's as if they can't recognize the difference between right and wrong.
I guess we will see what the Senators are really made of.

All the people that have poured money into the Obama campaign have got to be sitting on pins and needles in anticipation of his vote.
He claims to be the candidate of change. We will see.

UPDATE> On July 9th 69 Senators voted to gut the 4th ammendment by complying with Bush's illegal wiretapping and granting immunity to the telecoms.
Maybe you will want to call Obama and ask for a refund and remind him of the "rule of law"
from the Constitution, Article I, Section 9; Clause 3 is:
"No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed."

and for those that are keeping score...
senators receiving telecom donations in 2008 and their FISA vote...
Barack Obama (D) $220,789 Voted FOR immunity
John McCain (R) $365,955 ABSENT
Hillary Clinton (D-NY) $246,747 Voted AGAINST immunity
